The latest build of FtpVC 2.6 features a significant usability improvement: all files and directories are now shown with Windows filetype icons, as opposed to the generic icons used previously.

The version control status of files is still easy to see: status icons are now overlaid on top of the standard Windows icons, as you can see in the screenshot below:
